Each morning, you can choose to dine in the gazebo, the deck, or the formal French dining room, where we serve Lily Creek 's Signature Breakfast, full, with American and European accents daily. Or, enjoy "Breakfast in the Trees," in our woodsy treehouse overlooking the breath-taking view into the forest of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Once the site of a 19th Century hydraulically mined gold field, it now is home to the bed and breakfast lodge, receiving visitors from all around. Take an afternoon stroll around the Lily Creek's grounds and discover our quiet and shady gazebo, perfect for observing nature or just winding down. During the sun-drenched summer months, Lily Creek's pool, waterfall, and spacious covered pavilion provide a campy atmosphere for playing games and cooling off.

If you prefer to read a book next to the fireplace or watch some TV, come inside and experience the coziness of the Gathering Room and the Library. Or, drive into Dahlonega for some of the town's music and art festivities and great shopping for antiques, crafts and collectibles.

Wine Lover’s Romance Package Fine Wine & Dining at Montaluce 

“Montaluce Estate and Vineyards will host a special wine dinner on Saturday, July 19, 2008.  
Lily Creek Lodge overnight package includes deluxe accommodations for one night (double occupancy),
the wine dinner for two at Le Vigne and transportation to and from Montaluce for the dinner.

 Chef Steve Hewins of Ristorante Le Vigne will prepare a seasonally inspired,
five-course menu to accompany an assortment of award-winning wines from
California’s famed Far Niente and Nickel & Nickel wineries. Atlanta's own Michel O'Connor,
Fine Wine Consultant, will be on hand to discuss the history and winemaking details of each vintage.

    Fifth Annual Dahlonega Literary Festival & Writer’s Conference
Featuring New York Times best-selling authors, a cooking demonstration by cookbook author,
Nathalie Dupree and a Writers Conference

August 8, 9 and 10, 2008  the Fifth Annual Dahlonega Literary Festival returns to Dahlonega.
Making a rare public appearance will be Steve Berry, New York Times best-selling author of 
The Alexandria
Link, and one of five headliners for this year’s weekend-long festival.
Sharing the spotlight with Steve are Karen Abbott, Nathalie Dupree, Patti Callahan Henry, and Joshilyn Jackson! 

In addition to the headliners, the Festival will include fourteen other outstanding authors participating in readings, panels and book signings:  Jack Bass, Mitchell Graham, Dana Wildsmith, Lenore Hart, William Rawlings,
Mark Braught and Laura Knorr Braught, Jackie Cooper, Cathy Kaemmerlen, Walter Sorrells,
Karen White and the Dixie Divas: Julie Cannon, Jackie Miles and Patricia Sprinkle.

Nathalie Dupree will add a new element this year with a cooking demonstration of her
famous “Shrimp & Grits”, at Montaluce, Dahlonega’s recent addition to its collection of vineyards
and wineries. Playing host to Dupree’s talents is Le Vigne, the Montaluce’s on-site Tuscan-style restaurant.

On Saturday, enjoy and learn at the Dahlonega Writer’s Conference, an all-day seminar on the art of writing and the business of publishing led byBrian Jay Corrigan, award winning author and professor of Renaissance literature at NGCSU. The conference will include panels made up of the Festival’s headliners.  Space is limited.  Festival events are FREE.  The Writer’s Conference cost is $100/person.  Go to  www.literaryfestival.org  for more information on the Literary Festival  or for the registration form for the Writer’s Conference.  Mail the form with a check for $100 or call Sharon at 706-864-6848 to register and pay with a credit card.

The weekend also features author panels,  readings and   “Lunch with the Stars”, a festival tradition.  Advance reservations for the lunches need to be made with the individual restaurants.  Fun events for children are planned for the Gazebo on the Square on Saturday, Aug. 9.  The Second Annual Literary IQ Test/Scavenger Hunt promises to be great fun again this year with a $100 first prize and a first edition novel for second prize.  (Teaser questions are available).

The Dahlonega-Lumpkin County Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 20th Annual Six Gap Century and Three Gap Fifty Bike Ride – Tour of the North Georgia Mountains, presented by Dahlonega Wheelworks.

Coming on September 28, 2008 and taking place in Georgia's Premier Cycling Venue, the Six Gap Century & Three Gap Fifty boasts many of the same roads and mountain climbs as the elite Tour de Georgia. Come ride the Ride of the Pros!

Brunch & Concert Series at Wolf Mountain Vineyard & Winery -  Dorian Michael

Dorian Michael, on fingerstyle acoustic instrumental guitar, describes his music as
"contemporary traditional," original music that reflects his interest in a number of styles.

Brunch starts at 2:30 followed by the concert at 4:00pm.

Downtown Dahlonega Hosts Appalachian Jams
April 21, 2007 – October 27, 2007
Enjoy Acoustic Mountain Music in Historic Downtown
North Georgia’s mountain music pickers and singers flock to the
Dahlonega Gold Museum State Historic Site every Saturday from 2-6 p.m. 
Listeners and musicians alike will enjoy the acoustic bluegrass and old time
string music on the Public Square every Saturday.  FREE.



Explore The Night Sky At NGCSU
The George E. Coleman Sr. Planetarium at NGCSU is open to the public for one-hour free shows on Friday evenings while the university is in session. Shows begin with a multimedia introduction, transitioning visitors into a simulated outdoor amphitheater under a starry sky. Shows begin promptly at 8 p.m. Fridays, Room 234 of NGCSU's Health & Natural Sciences Building on Sunset Dr., Dahlonega. Public viewing after the planetarium show at the North Georgia Astronomical Observatory on Day Dr., Dahlonega, weather permitting.
